Did you know that the average tempature of the ocean off the coast of Florida is actually warmer than off the coast of California? Rule of thumb is that the ocean waters on the west side of any continent will be cooler than at the same latitude on the east side. This is due to a scientic phrase called the Coriolis effect which controls the oceans currents.
