Here it is, the height of summer travel season for most folks here in the USA. When I was growing up I remember always seeing people on TV or in the movies, who have left on vacation and realized they forgot to turn off the iron! In today’s world of ready press clothes, that has made that item gone by the waist side.
As a travel agent over the years, I have had numerous clients who have called me from the airport saying they forgot their airline tickets at home on the counter. With electronic tickets that is no longer an issue either.
So what are the top 3 things people forget when they travel?
3. Keys to their house (locking their keys in their cars at the airport for safety is # 4)
2. Sun tan lotion
1. Toothbrushes
This top two items can be easily purchased, no matter where you travel. I try to suggest to my customers to always write down a list of what you want or need to pack for your next trip. Especially with the airlines now charging for a second checked bag, it is wise to follow th list, so you don’t over pack. Also having a written list won’t make you wonder all the time if you are forgetting something (unless you forgot to write it down on the list).
Another simple suggestion, bring an extra set of under garments in your carry on baggage just in case your luggage gets lost. You can wear your clothes again the next day, but it is really nice to have clean underwear to put on if this does happen to you.
