I have been a travel agent for 20 years, during that time and for many years prior I have flown many different airlines. I even worked for an airline for 4 years. Of late many airlines have been getting bad pres because of their rising cost, fuel supplements and amounting fees.
Having flown on them most recently, I can attest that Southwest Airlines is VERY customer service oriented. Not only were the reservations easy to make but changes were easy as well. They happily checked my bags and did not make me pay any additional service fees. During my flights to Seattle from Washington Dulles I was offered complimentary snacks and beverages. I was always greeted with a smile and with respect and it meant a lot to me as a consumer.
This type of service is why people are loyal, this type of travel is what make people want to travel again and again. I know they won’t fly everywhere I or everyone needs to go but I would recommend Southwest Airlines to everyone here in the USA as an exceptional carrier. My flights were on-time, bags in one piece, the plane was clean and the people friendly. Southwest Airlines does air travel right where other airlines have veered off for the cost of a dollar.
