Royal Caribbean’s Cruise Lines Oasis of the Seas will be debuting soon – here are some fun facts and features about this mega ship.

1. There is over 3,000 miles of cable on board the Oasis

2. When done, it will have taken over 1.7 hours designing and building the Oasis of the Seas

3. There will be 7 neighborhoods on board for cruise passengers to enjoy while sailing

4. Passengers on board the oasis of the Seas can enjoy Royal Caribbean’s new My Time Dining

5. There will be 2,160 crew members staffing the ship

6. The average crew member has 2.5 years of experience working on a cruise ship

7. 95% of the crew working on the Oasis of the Seas will come from other Royal Caribbean ships

8. There will be 13 retail stores on board the Oasis of the Seas selling everything someone may need

9. There are 150 suites for passengers to enjoy

10. Passengers can enjoy the choice of 24 different restaurants on the ship

11. The square footage of the Oasis of the Seas is 2.4 million

12. There will be 2,700 deck chairs on board to chill and relax while cruising

13. Cruisers can enjoy a total of 37 bars and lounges on board while cruising

14. It has taken 650,000 liters of paint so far to paint the interior and exterior

15. 12,000 live plants and trees will be planted on the ships common grounds

16. The Aqua Theater diving pool deepest portion is a total of 21 feet in depth

17. The projected check in time to board the Oasis is 15 minutes for passengers from curb to on board the ship

18. There is a unique elevator, that also acts as a bar on board and is called the Rising Tide Bar going up and down 3-6 times per hour

19. The ship will feature the first ever cupcake shop called the Cupcake Cupboard with a 1940 theme and passengers can decorate their own

20. Broadways Tony award winning show ‘Hairspray’ will be featured in the ships Opal Theater

This is a great insight into how good the new ships that are coming online in the next few years will be. I wonder if they budgeted for that much paint ?
