Well after visiting New Brunswick, Canada the next stop on Taylor Sailor’s cruise was Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is a wonderful seaside city! Very vibrant and welcoming to all of it’s visitors.
Taylor Sailor and JJ took a double decker bus tour around the city by Gray Line Tours and learned many interesting things about this historic sea port. Their tour conductors even wore traditional kilts.
Now that Taylor Sailor is back in the office from his cruise, there will be many photos added to this blog from this wonderful Northeastern cruise on the Carnival Victory.
Many of the places Taylor Sailor stopped and visited while in Halifax were the Harbor Walk. This area is lined along the piers with lots of quaint shops and restaurants. As we walked along there were people dressed in historic costumes welcoming us to their fair city (what a lovely touch). On the Harbor Walk we were delighted by the sounds of bagpipe music, the sight of several tall ships and the wonderful fresh air.
This is a city with a rich history as a bustling seaport and large area of commerce.
The fort or the Citadel, as they called it ,offered spectacular views of the entire city and the bay. The stories we were told about this site were really entrancing. We all truly enjoyed our day roaming the streets of Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is a city I would recommend people to visit as a land vacation as well as a cruise port. It was such a lovely visit, I would love to go back again for a long weekend to explore even more. Plus, we had stopped for some fish and chips for lunch and I have to say it was the best fish and chips I can ever remember having!
